Driving in Mexico
A lot has been said about driving in Mexico. For an American used to following the rules and staying in the lines at times it can be a challenge.
However what has really amazed me is the amount of trust that people have in each other while on the roads. In the US if you turn left from the right lane you will almost certainly get hit. Not so in Mexico. People generally pay a lot more attention in Mexico so someone turning right from the left lane usually only results in a few honks.
Some rule changes you need to think about:
"Stop" signs don't really mean stop, they mean slow down and look.
The lines in the road (including the big double yellow line) can be fudged a little.
If you turn on your blinkers you can do just about anything you want.
The far left and right lanes are reserved for parking. The same can be true of the second to right and second to left lanes if the right and left lanes are full.
Not all one-way streets are actually one-way.
You must pay attention at all times!

Teotihuacan Pyramids near Mexico City
So this last weekend we got to go to the ancient city of Teotihuacan. It is located just north of Mexico City and has one of the largest collection of Pyramids in the world.
The spring & fall equinoxes (when there is an equal amount of day and night) are very important for the Pyramids in Mexico. Starting a few weeks beforehand people start climbing to the top of the Pyramids and raising their hands to receive energy from the sun.
This just helps to remind us of their need for THE Son.

View of the Mountains from our Roof
Libby and I love the mountains. We had our first date in Colorado and then later got engaged in Colorado in the middle of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Well the mountains here are a little different, but they are truly amazing.

Merry Chirstmas!!!
Greetings from Dallas! It is hard to believe it is already December. This year has flown by. We have had a wonderful fall. Jon has enjoyed the extra time to study this semester after leaving his job in August to concentrate on school. We have also enjoyed the extra time at home together.
We had a great time recently in Atlanta with Libby’s parents and enjoyed Thanksgiving in Austin with Jon’s family. We continue to prepare to plan for our upcoming ministry in Mexico, and we have been excited about the enthusiasm and encouragement many of you have given us.
We really appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement during the process of getting to the mission field. We are both growing spiritually as we trust the Lord to lead us.
We pray everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May God bless you and your family,
Jon and Libby
